If you have followed along with me at all throughout this year you'll know that I have been INSANELY busy. Busy to the point of having to turn down so many shoots this year, because there is literally not enough hours in the week to fit everyone into my schedule. Some nights I'm up editing photos until 3am (*cough last night and tonight cough*) and have to be back up at 6am the next morning. I've thought a lot about how crazy hectic my life has become and then I stopped. I stopped and thought that from where I was at this point even one year ago to now things are COMPLETELY different. I was doing everything I could to succeed more, get more bookings, more followers, more likes - And then I remembered IT'S NOT ABOUT THAT.
I had my last wedding of the season last Saturday, but had scheduled 10 holiday shoots the next day. It was the only day I had open so I said why not, lets do them all in a row - not my best idea. I'm telling you I couldn't drink my coffee(s) fast enough. I pulled up to the rows of Christmas trees on one of the coldest days of the year, overtired, exhausted and just worn out. And then... it started snowing. Ten shoots back to back, and it started snowing. Guys I was literally sitting in my car, waiting for these families that got up early, got their kids or significant others ready, and were bearing the cold just to do photos with me on their Sunday off. I was so overwhelmed/humbled/happy/grateful that I started tearing up! (It didn't help the prettiest Christmas music was playing in my car like my life was suddenly the soundtrack to a Hallmark movie!)
So my friends, as you might know this year I'm donating 100% of the proceeds from these shoots to a family or person in need. GUYS WE RAISED OVER $1,000!!
I literally cannot thank everyone enough that I've gotten to serve through photography this year - especially those of you working with my crazy schedule. And for the record your emails, texts, reviews and comments I get every time I send a gallery out is the most rewarding feeling I can't even explain it. It's so appreciated and it never goes unnoticed. Thank you thank you thank you x1,000 from the bottom of my heart for the BEST year yet!
